Sustainable solutions for “Smart Steel”
The digital transformation of the steel industry is expected to provide new opportunities for value creation by adding services based on data, digitization and cloud-based solutions to traditional steel products. The SmartSteel concept will enable new services and can contribute to a more resource-efficient industry by providing tools for material traceability and process efficiency. It is also expected that new co-creative activities and projects will be facilitated through collaboration along the entire value chain. SmartSteel is a project funded by PiiA, the strategic innovation program Processindustrial IT & Automation. Partners in the project are: SSAB, Sandvik, Swerim, Dimecc, Siemens, FindIT and Luleå University of Technology.
Maria Germain from SSAB talks about the project idea and the results at the conference Automation Summit with PiiA Inspiration.
