PiiA calls for proposals and strategic projects.

Projects are one of the key tools that PiiA uses to encourage innovation and help create a safer, more efficient, and more productive process industry.

We coordinate two open calls for research, development, and innovation (RDI) proposals each year, as well as initiating strategic projects aimed at identifying and developing new IT and automation solutions for the industry.

PiiA calls for proposals

PiiA holds two open calls for proposals each year. During these, consortiums formed from industry and academia are invited to apply for funding for projects related to industrial IT and automation for the process industry. The first call is made at the start of the year and aims to fund either full research, development and innovation (RDI) projects or entire RDI project stages. The second call for proposals opens during spring and is aimed primarily at funding pre-studies.

PiiA-initiated projects – strategic projects

PiiA also initiates strategic projects aimed at advancing knowledge around process-industrial IT and automation, and opening the way for greater innovation. PiiA’s Strategic Feasibility studies highlight areas not yet funded but where there is a high need for activity, while our demonstration projects are aimed at generating public and industrial interest and highlighting potential opportunities.
